EQ eStore can export your catalogue products to use for setting the SEO search values for your website. It allows for the reimport of the SEO values after they have been edited in Excel more efficiently than clicking through every product in EQ.

Settings to automate SEO export
Settings to automate SEO export
- Open the eStore screen and double click on a catalogue name which opens the view with products on the left.
- Click on a product to select it and click the tab SEO:
- The SEO export options are at the bottom of the screen and apply to all products in the catalogue, not just the currently selected product.
- The SEO title, keywords and extended description can be automatically populated by the data that already exists in EQ. You can customise how the title and keywords are completed using the tick box options:
SEO Title Contents
Prefix Collection begins the title with your collection name
Prefix Brand begins the title with the catalogue brand name
Select the sequence for the title either as Description - Product Code or Product Code - Description.
SEO Keywords Contents
Tick to include the following data in the keywords field:
Colour/finish, collection, product type, category, EAN, brand.
SEO Extended Description
You can limit the number of characters for the description field. The default is set to 145 characters. The description will take the product specification (and any override from the Specification tab). When you set a character limit EQ will produce the specification up to the last complete word so incomplete words will not be exported.
Test SEO export
It is possible to quickly view how the data will look before you create your XLS file.
- Follow the steps above to make your selections.
- Click the Test button:
On the currently selected product the SEO title, SEO keywords and SEO description fields will immediately complete with data. The backgrounds will show yellow when you click test to show which fields have changed. No permanent changes are saved whilst you use the test option.
- You can make any adjustments with the options and press Test again to see the result of the change. Click Reset to clear the sample product SEO data. Otherwise you are ready to create an SEO export file.
Create SEO export file
Once you have configured your options and tested the data using the steps above you are ready to export your SEO data into an XLS file that can be read in Microsoft Excel.
- Click the button Create Catalogue SEO Export File:
Optional: Ticking Update empty (blank) SEO values will automatically fill the customised data into the SEO title, keywords and extended description fields of all products in the current catalogue (as well as creating the XLS file). That data will only be saved if you respond Yes to the message to update eStore products when you close this window, otherwise your changes will be discarded as normal.
- Progress is shown at the top right of the screen and a system message will inform you when the export is complete:
You can see the location of the XLS file is inside your EQ eStore data folder, in Export and SEO_Export. There is a count of the number of rows that have been exported. The filename will contain the date and time of your export.
- Using Windows File Explorer you can browse to this folder and double-click the XLS file to open it in Excel (if Excel is installed on your PC):
You can now work with the SEO data in Excel.
