This guide will show you how to use the Google Base in the eStore module. This article includes:
Exporting your Google Base feed
eStore products pushed to a website can also be used to integrate with Google Base.
- The first stage is for the products required to be flagged to show in Google Base, with a Google Stock Status applied to them.
- The second stage is to generate the datafeed.txt file required to import into your online Google Base Account.
Setup the products
Firstly open the catalogue containing the product(s) you wish to use in Google Base.
Flag an Individual Product Highlight the product and make sure the Details TAB is selected on the right.
The Google Base flag is in the Product Flags section at the bottom on the right of the screen. Tick this box to make the product active for the google base feed on-line.
Google Base also asks that each product has one of Google’s own Stock Status applied to it, this option is located in the Classifications section of this screen.
Select multiple products
You can Right Click on your mouse and hold Shift keyboard tab option to update several products at once, by click on the Properties button.
Remember to tick Apply for the changes to take effect. It is similar to a toggle button is an on-off command.
Click on the Update button to save changes.
Exporting your Google Base Feed
The Google Base is retrieved from the CMS section of the site.
If you go to the top navbar and hover over CMS > eCommerce > Google Base eCommerce > Google Base Setup you can then download the google base data_feed.txt file:

Google Base (Taxonomy)
Products flagged for Google Base can also have an additional Google attribute applied to them, Google call this Taxonomy.
Simply put, its an additional type and category applied to the product using either Googles own standard set of Taxonomy options, or they do allow you to apply your own.
Applying your own Taxonomy Options can only be done manually in the data_feed.txt after its been downloaded it via the CMS option from the website.
1. Apply when adding new catalogues
When a new catalogue is added to the eStore Module, one of the options allows you to apply a Taxonomy option across the whole catalogue.
See the image below, the Taxonomy option is located at the bottom.
2. Apply to current catalogues
Highlight a catalogue that has already been added to eStore and select the Catalogue Settings
button on the left of the screen.
3. Apply to specific categories
Open a catalogue in eStore and select the eStore Menu > Category
Select the Google Base TAB on the right hand of the following pop-up screen.
Taxonomy will be the only option in this TAB (see image on right)
